Susan M. Baganz is a prolific author, editor, speaker, and teacher who loves weaving faith, romance, and a touch of humor into her stories. She began writing in 2009 after a dream prompted her to take on NaNoWriMo. She dug in, learned the craft, endured the critiques and rewrites, and kept writing.
Since then, Susan has produced more than 25 published works, ranging from flash fiction and short stories to novellas and full-length novels. She is also the co-author of the Rules of Engagement military romance series with DeeDee Lake.
Writing, Editing & Teaching
Susan’s love of words extends beyond writing her own books. She is also an editor, speaker, and teacher who enjoys helping other writers grow in their craft.
With a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology from Trinity Evangelical College in Deerfield, Illinois, a background in mental health, and years of service in church ministry, Susan understands both the complexities and the craziness of life.
She has taught graduate-level theology and leadership courses and has taught writing through university continuing education programs and at Christian writers conferences.
Faith & Encouragement

Faith is central to Susan’s life and work. Through her writing, speaking, teaching, and ministry, she encourages others to follow God and become all He created them to be.
Her background in counseling, women’s ministry, teaching, and her own life experiences bring depth to the characters and relationships she creates on the page.
Susan’s Happily-Ever-After
When Susan isn’t writing, editing, speaking, or teaching, you’ll likely find her enjoying some quieter pursuits—snuggling with her dogs while reading a good book, chatting with a friend over a spiced chai latte, or helping her supposedly-retired husband with outdoor projects.
And when the weather cooperates, there’s always mini-golf—where Susan will be trying to beat Ben. 😄
